Afrovenator abakensis ("African Hunter") were discovered in the Téneré Desert of Niger, specifically in Tiouraren Hill. This tooth is a genuine fossil from this species, measuring 2.7cm or 1.06 inches in length. Dating back to the Bathonian stage, which was around 167 million years ago, this tooth is a unique and fascinating piece of ancient history.

 

As a megalosaurid, Afrovenator abakensis was a large carnivorous dinosaur that roamed the African continent during the Jurassic Period, and this tooth provides a glimpse into its impressive anatomy.
